About Advisor Review
An independent consumer-tech site that explains what a spec sheet will not: which differences you will actually notice, and which ones you are paying for and will not.
What we publish
Advisor Review covers six areas — laptops, phones, audio, TVs and displays, smart home and wearables. Our work falls into two types: buying guides, which are shortlists for one specific job, and explainers and reviews, which break down how a technology works so the specifications stop being marketing noise.
How we research
We are a research-led site, not a testing lab. Recommendations are built from manufacturer specifications, published independent measurements, teardown and repairability reports, and patterns in long-term owner feedback — cross-checked across more than one source before anything is recommended. Where a claim cannot be verified, we say so in the article rather than repeating it.
How we are funded
Advisor Review is a participant in the Amazon Associates programme. When you buy through a link on this site we may earn a commission from qualifying purchases. It costs you nothing extra. No brand can pay for a mention, a position in a list or a favourable conclusion, and we do not accept sponsored posts or paid links. Read the full affiliate disclosure.
Corrections
Technology changes and so do prices, firmware and availability. If something on this site is wrong or out of date, tell us and we will correct it and note the change on the page. Write to us through the contact page.
Our editorial rules, in short
No pay-for-placement
Positions in a guide are never for sale.
Sources over slogans
Measurements and documented behaviour beat marketing claims, every time.
Say what we do not know
If we have not verified something, the article says it is unverified.
